Carousel Horses

To see how these horses are created please click on the photo of the white horse.

To date Tom has carved three Carousel Horses. Each one is a one of a kind and will not be reproduced. These magnificent horses are the size of a standard outside row Carousel horse and are fashioned in the American carousel style, which means that the horse, if mounted on an actual carousel would turn counter clockwise (European Carousels turn clockwise). This also means that more detail is put into the side that would face the public. Over 200 hours of work goes into making one of these horses, from carving it out and putting it together to actually painting the entire animal. Of the three featured on this page, two have already been sold.

However King David's Horse (left) is still available. This maginficent horse is created out of Mohagony and sports a sheild on the chest of the horse that shows a scene of David and Golith. This sheild also pulls out to reveal the dates of when Tom began work on this horse, when it was finished and how much time it took to paint it. There are several other special features on this unique Carousel horse as well.

The handle of the sword is not mearly carved into the side of the saddle. The hilt is removeable but to prevent injuries a wooden dowl takes the place of a steel blade. And lastly there is a panel in the side of the horse that can be taken off to reveal a miniture carousel inside the horse itself!

King David's Horse is available for $20,000. If you love carousel horses or are a collector of one of a kind items, this is for you.
