Canes
Tom is best known for the three foot walking canes he carves out of dogwood. These canes
usually have five to eight scenes carved in a spiral down the cane. The one shown
below has several scenes from the movie Dances with Wolves carved into it. Some of the items
depicted are the journal, the wolf named white socks, the indian camp site and a buffalo. This
magnificent work of art is still available for $5000. To see more details of this cane Please click
one of the photos below.
The cane featured below shows an Indian brave with his arms
outstreched. His arms fade into elegant eagle wings and his feet transform into talons
which clutch a large fish. The head of the figure is that of an eagle, proud and defiant.
This Cane is pictured with the First Place Award that it won at an International wood-carving
show in Canada and has already been sold.
Below are a few other examples of canes and walking sticks that Tom has carved.

The two walking sticks featured below were created for two of Tom's nieces. These canes feature characters from the Lord of the Rings books. Gollum stands holding a half eaten frog above the Ring of power on one cane while Gandalf walks on some errand with treebeard searching for the Entwives below him on the other cane.

The cane featured below is one that depicts many of the civil war's famous people and icons.
Tom has carved many canes with themes including the History of an
Indian Tribe, Gone With The Wind, and of course Dances With Wolves. Tom has also carved
canes that have only one figure carved into the front of the cane. These figures include
everything from Mermaids and Dragons to animals, bulldozers and even a John Deere Tractor.
Prices of course range anywhere from $50 to $5000 depending on what kind of themes or figures
are added to a cane and how much detail is put into it.
